The prosecutor has filed the indictment against the man suspected of being behind the illegal IPTV service Viking IPTV. In connection with the police raid, the police managed to secure 12.7 Bitcoin (roughly SEK 5 million). The court has decided on seizure sequestration of SEK 16,250,000.
The preliminary investigation is extensive and contains a lot of evidence showing that the man has been involved in illegal IPTV and the Viking IPTV service. At the time the police raided the mans house, he had several open windows on his computer where information about the service and its scope appeared. The police have also found evidence on both computers and phones, including chats on Telegram and Skype. Interrogations have also been held with customers of the illegal service.
According to the indictment, the service had several thousand customers and has generated an enormous amount of money. An analysis carried out by one of the police’s cryptocurrency analysts show that clusters of bitcoin wallets connected to the man have received roughly 308 bitcoins in the years 2018 to 2022. At today’s exchange rate, this corresponds to approximately SEK 121,000,000.
