A man involved in IPTVKing has been prosecuted. IPTVKing was one of the largest illegal IPTV services in Sweden. It started in 2016, and during 2017-18 they got around 46 million SEK in subscription fees.
The prosecuted man was not involved directly in administrating the service, his role was to handle the finances.
IPTVKing was stopped on June 3rd 2020 when the police coordinated action in several countries in Europe, it was the biggest action against illegal IPTV, so far. Three Swedes were detained, and the police investigation continues.
Illegal IPTV has increased rapidly in Sweden. According to the Mediavision report “Nordic Piracy, 2021” 20 percent of the households in Sweden uses illegal IPTV services.
